Creative Dance at Athena - Spring 2024

Join us for Creative Dance at Athena! We use movement, songs, interactive stories, and structured play to develop dance skills and inspire creativity! Each class, we explore dance concepts such as: spatial awareness, rhythm, alignment, and balance that help to fill gaps in development and prepare your child for all areas of life. Through creative dance, children become thoughtful, intelligent, and embodied movers and learners.

Dance classes will take place outside in the breezeway between P1 & P2 on Friday mornings from 8:30 - 9:15 AM. Students should arrive 10 minutes before dance starts, so they can settle into their classroom first.

Children must be at least 4 years old by January 1st, 2024.

Classes are 45 minutes long and consist of a warm-up, exploration of the concept, skill development, creation, and cool-down. Students should wear comfortable clothes they can move in, and bring a water bottle.

The program will start February 9th 2024 and go through May 10th. If a class gets cancelled for any reason we will be able to make up that class on May 17th. If more than one class gets cancelled we will not be able to accommodate any additional make-up classes due to schedule and space limitations.
